About Us
Equity at the Forefront of Arts
The Driftless Urban Orchestra, or DUO, sees the value in everyone. We focus on featuring the music of historically underrecognized composers alongside the most prominent names in the profession. Since our beginnings in 2019, we’ve been driven by the ideas we initially founded our organization upon: support, equity, and progress in every facet of our organization from programming to board makeup.
DUO emerged from a desire to shift the narrative surrounding the glaring issues of equity in the performing arts space, as well as inspire, educate, and support the community while exposing listeners to new, exciting sounds that reflect the rich diversity of our own community.

Mission: To serve as a premier chamber ensemble in the Driftless Region that promotes diversity and equyity in the performing arts through programming, and eliminates barriers to classical music through community engagement and arts education
