The Driftless Urban Orchestra is a chamber ensemble dedicated to equity, accessibility, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented composers — performing in living rooms, libraries, and concert halls alike.
We believe great music belongs to everyone. DUO was founded to bring chamber music into unexpected spaces and to champion composers whose stories have gone untold.
We actively seek out and program works by composers from underrepresented communities — women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled artists.
Free and sliding-scale concerts. Performances in schools, community centers, and neighborhoods that rarely see live chamber music.
La Crosse is home. We partner with local organizations, hire local musicians, and invest our energy where we live.
Every performance is a chance to hear something new or timeless with fresh ears.
Join DUO for the end of its 2026 Mini-Season! This culminating concert features Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring alongside a companion piece by Kimberly Osberg called Rocky Summer, previously premiered by the Dallas Chamber Symphony. Pay-what-you-can tickets!
The Driftless Urban Orchestra is made possible by the generosity of individuals, foundations, and community organizations who believe in our mission of equity in the performing arts.
